Mónica Cruz, gitana
El protagonista establece una relación con una muchacha del ambiente gitano del lugar, Mari Carmen (Mónica Cruz), y revive en su propia persona el desgraciado legado de su padre.
El cineasta ha señalado que su filme recrea el mundo de la España central y del flamenco gitano.
El director de fotografía es Juan Antonio Ruiz Anchía, y Antonio Canales es el autor de las coreografías, además de encarnar el papel de Arturo.
Canales ha participado bailando flamenco en los filmes "Montoyas y Tarantos", de Vicente Escribá, y "Vengo", del francés Tony Gatlif,
En el filme baila también Rafael Amargo, quien recrea al personaje de "Miguelito", el hermanastro del protagonista, "el rebelde", ha explicado Amargo a Efe en Barcelona.

CANNES -- New Madrid-based film production and financing company Galba has boarded $10 million flamenco romancer "Caminando," one of the first films on its slate.
Pic is directed by Daryl Matthews who wrote and choreographed Latin beat romancer "Dance With Me," toplining Vanessa Williams and Chayanne.
Matthews also choreographed the WB-released "Wrestling Ernest Hemingway," with Robert Duval and Richard Harris.
A story of self-discovery, "Caminando" toplines Peter Youngblood Hills ("The Beach"), Penelope Cruz's younger sister Monica Cruz and flamenco vet dancer Antonio Canales. Also co-starring is Rafael Amargo, Spain's hottest young flamenco dancer who has begun a promising film career with "The Crime of the Bride."
Youngblood Hills plays an American Navy pilot in Spain who falls in love with the daughter (Cruz) of a flamenco school owner (Canales).Spanish cinematographer Juan Ruiz-Anchia ("Spartan," "Glengarry Glen Ross") will be d.p., while Waldemar Kalinowski ("Fast and the Furious") heads production design.
Produced by Matthews and Galba topper Marina Fuentes, "Caminando" shoots in the country town of Chinchon, north of Madrid, from Aug. 15 of this year.
"The film is a love tale with a flamenco backdrop, combining a strong story line and beautiful, beautiful dancing," said Fuentes.
A former co-prexy of international sales at Andes Vicente Gomez's Lolafilms, Fuentes will continue to work as a production consultant for Lumina Films

Sur Imdb le statut du film a changé...Il est en "pre production" annonçant que le tournage est prévu pour le printemps 2007...
